The Mergis Group has an immediate need for a J2EE Developer to fill a
full time position with our client in Ottawa

Our client provides complete Financial Management and Customer
Information System solutions. They are an experienced, solid company
with proven solutions that are presently in use by over 4,000
customers across North America.

The opportunity:

We are seeking a J2EE Developer to work within a growing professional
services team for our client’s core software product. The successful
candidate will be involved in full lifecycle software development
(design to testing). Excellent communication skills are essential as
the position involves client facing activities such needs analysis and
requirement gathering.

Must have skills:

· Minimum 4 years of experience in software development using
Java technologies (J2EE, Swing, Java Beans)

· Strong database programming skills (with Oracle, SQL or
Informix)

· Previous experience in a customer facing or client consulting
role

· Knowledge of OOP and design patterns

· Experience with multi-tier architectures

· Previous experience working with bug tracking software

· Experience developing in a team environment

· Previous experience with source control software

Highly desired skills:

· Experience developing applications for both Windows and Linux

· Previous experience developing with ASP, .NET

· Previous experience with 3rd party interfaces

· Previous experience with web services

· Previous experience mentoring junior developers

· Previous data conversion experience

· Have knowledge of CIS, customer care systems, billing systems
or financial systems.
