J2EE/Weblogic Architect - Permanent Opportunity
•Support Technical Manager in designing the architecture of
large-scale e-business projects focusing on enterprise architecture.
•Produce deliverables that meet the engagement budget and schedule and
satisfy client requirements.
•Develop documentation that meets relevant quality standards, is
technically accurate, fulfills engagement objectives, and is presented
in a professional format.
•Provide feedback/enhancement requests to product development about
products/tools during engagements.
•Communicate regularly with management regarding project status and
participate in post-mortem reviews.
Engagement Management/Leadership Responsibilities:
•Articulate complex technical issues to senior client management,
recommend appropriate solutions and guide client through issue
resolution.
•Assist or lead team in determining client requirements and in scoping
and estimating efforts.
•Serve as the primary client point-of-contact for engagement technical
issues.
•Provide technical leadership to the development team Identify project
requirements, strategies, and schedules in support of engagement
letters and contracts.
•Develop engagement tasking and scheduling plans and revise, as
appropriate, to meet changing needs and requirements.
•Ability and willingness to travel, as necessary.
Qualifications/Necessary Skills:
Required:
•10+ years relevant technical work experience Typical experience in
consulting, managing projects, and/or developing software solutions in
distributed computing systems area.
•Deep technical knowledge of WebLogic, clustered, on Solaris
Experience with deploying, troubleshooting many different applications
on WLS.
•Ability to architect and implement J2EE applications and expert
understanding of/experience with J2EE technologies.
•Strong communication skills, must be able to discuss ideas, issues,
requirements, architectures with non-technical senior management.
•Strong presentation/white boarding skills; must be able to lead
architecture discussions in front of technically strong customer
personnel.
•Ability to gain customer's confidence, sell himself / herself.
•Must love new technology A proven track record of delivering on
promises.
•Must have experience creating project plans for estimating purposes.
•Has managed projects, or at least technical teams.
•Experience with Rational Rose or other UML/UP-based methodology.
Preferred:
•Experience with other BEA products: Portal, Integrator. Experience
with WebLogic clustered.
•Experience with WebLogic on other Unix environments.
•Experience with WebLogic on non-Unix environments (esp. AS400).
•Experience with other (competing) products, esp. Websphere, iPlanet,
ATG.
•Experience with migrating applications between application servers.
•Experience leading EAI engagements Experience with mainframes or
connecting to mainframes (such as MQ Series).
•Experience with troubleshooting/diagnostic tools.
•Background as a Java or C/C++ developer (as opposed to consultant).
Educational Requirements:
•B.S. degree, preferable in computer science, information systems,
engineering, or mathematics.
•Advanced degree in computer science or related field is preferred.
